The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Reyneck Matemba has refuted claims that the body has arrested Chief Immigration Officer Masauko Medi.
On Monday, the social media was awash with reports that the anti-graft bursting body has arrested Medi and several other officials at Immigration.
But speaking in an interview, Matemba refuted the claims, saying the body only conducted a search at immigration head office in Blantyre.
“We only conducted a search and seizures at Immigration and Citizenship headquarters in Blantyre and in the homes of some Immigration officers
“No arrests have been effected,” said Matemba.
He further said that ACB will update Malawians on the purpose of the exercise.
