Allan Chiyembekeza of the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has joined Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
Dr. Chiyembekeza who served as agriculture Minster in the DPP led administration announced of his defection to MCP yesterday.
The welcoming ceremony of Chiyembekeza took place at MCP’s regional headquarters in the commercial City of Blantyre.
According to Chiyembekeza, his decision to join MCP is in line with the wishes of people in his home district of Thyolo.
Aftermath of June 23, fresh presidential elections, a number of people from the DPP has left the party and join parties in the Tonse Alliance which merged victorious in the fresh polls.
