Crime buster Bob Mtekama who was heading the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has died.
National police spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed of the development.
However, Kadadzera could not give more details on cause of death.
Mtekama, whose rank was Deputy Commissioner of Police, was appointed a few weeks ago as Head of CID.
