Two boys from Kenya who went missing in Kiambu County have been found dead after they were reported missing two weeks ago.

John Njenga, 13, and Kelvin Kariuki, 10, were last seen in public grazing livestock on July 25.

On Thursday, August 6, children, who were herding goats saw the bodies of Njenga and Kariuki floating on the pool of water in a pond, prompting them to report the shocking discovery to residents.

Police spokesman, Michael Kang’ethe, confirmed the incident with K24, saying investigations to ascertain the cause of the children’s death have commenced.

“Their bodies had decomposed. As a result, it was difficult to know whether they had any torture-associated signs,” Kang’ethe told K24 Digital.

Bodies of the two were taken for a postmortem.
