At least four suspects at Nkhotakota police station have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Nkhotakota police station publicist Williams Kaponda confirmed of the development.
According to Kaponda the four are among 12 suspects that were being held at the police station.
Kaponda said the results came in today adding that all four are male detainees.
The suspects have since been moved to Maula Prison in Lilongwe where there is an institutional isolation centre.
Kaponda said the holding cells at Nkhotakota Police Station will be disinfected.
