Norman Chisale, security aide of former President Peter Mutharika will spend more days in police custody as the judge who was supposed to preside over his bail application case has gone on leave.
Chisale was arrested last week in Blantyre on grounds that he had a hand in the gruesome murder of Issa Njauju who until his death was Director of Corporate Services at the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Mutharika’s aide was expected to appear in court yesterday for bail application but this did not happened at the presiding Judge Fiona Mwale was not available.
According to information at hand, Justice Mwale is currently on leave.
Lawyer for Chisale, Chancy Gondwe confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying he is engaging with the Judiciary to appoint a new Judge for the case.
Chisale has been charged with murder and the case has been committed to the High Cout.
