Malawi Police Spokesperson, James Kadadzera has clarified on confusion of not wearing a mask in a car.
As you know, there are two types of vehicles, Public and private vehicles.
Public vehicles examples include Buses, Minibuses, taxis and all those vehicles that have a red number plate.
Private vehicles are all vehicles that as a citizen you own and use them exclusively on your own and have a black number plate.
If you are driving in your private vehicle and you do not have a mask on, police will not arrest you for not putting on a mask because this is your private vehicle.
But if you get out of the car and are wondering about, without a mask on, you will be arrested and fined K10,000.
If you are in a public vehicle, you have to wear a mask, whether you like it or not
