Mobile Money operators at Dowa boma are stranded after the Dowa Market Committee confiscated their materials today for failure to pay what the committee says is “development fee”.
A representative of the mobile money agents Kissa Mtoseni confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
Mtoseni described the committee’s move as cruel and fraudulent, arguing that they cannot manage to pay K5,000 on top of the daily K200 market fee.
But the market committee chairperson Oliva Katema said they have taken the move to ensure that they purchase Covid-19 preventive materials for market users.
