Malawi prophets under the Prophetic Ministries Association of Malawi (PROAM) has asked government to revisit the updated Covid-19 preventive measures which came into effect on August 8, 2020.
The Consortium of prophetic ministries and churches in a press reefing held yesterday, expressed concern with the newly updated Covid-19 restrictions.
On Sunday, Attorney General Chikosa Silungwe who was accompanied by official from the Ministry of Health and Minster of Information Gospel Kazako announced that gatherings of more than 10 people are banned among other restrictions.
The briefing, chaired by Prophet David F. Mbewe of Living World Evangelistic Church (LIWEC) said the Ministry of Health has to revisit the 10 people limit measure on public gatherings and consult widely on the matter.
The association has also asked the State President Lazarus Chakwera to immediately appoint an advisor to the President on Religious Affairs.
Adding to that, the prophets has also asked Chakwera to treat Church gatherings as essential services in Malawi.
