A 23 year-old man has died after he drowned on Monday the 10th August, 2020 in lake Malawi at Chigumukile in Salima.
Salima Police Public Relations Officer Jacob Khembo confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Paul Sauzande from Saidi village in the area of TA Ndindi in Salima district.
According to Mahandede Mailosi, one of the fishermen in the boat, the deceased met with his fate as he went in deep waters twice but failed to come out the third time.
Search was done the moment Paul failed to come out of the deep waters and was found stuck and then the body was retrieved and taken to Lifuwu health centre where death was pronounced.
Postmortem revealed that death was due to suffocation.
