Fed of his abusive behaviour, two sisters allegedly strangled their father to death in Jagadgirigutta area of Hyderabad in Telangana on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old A Raju, who ran a flour mill in Maqdoom Nagar. The victim’s elder daughter is 17 and is studying in class 12. The other girl is 16 and a school dropout.
According to a report in Times of India, the wife of the deceased had died of ill health around eight months back.
“The victim Raju was an alcohol addict and used to harass his daughters. He used to verbally and physically assault the two girls when he was drunk. Fed up of his abusive behaviour, the two daughters strangled their father to death when he was sleeping in a drunken state,” the report quoted A Ganga Reddy, Jagadgirigutta inspector, as saying.
On Tuesday, a relative of the two accused saw the body of Raju and alerted the police. The juveniles have been taken into custody after a case has been filed against them.
The accused are likely to be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board today.
In a similar incident in 2014, a 23-year-old killed her father in Rajouri Garden area of West Delhi. She also ripped open the heart of her father to ensure he was dead. The woman was aided by her two male friends in killing her father.
The victim Daljeet Singh was overpowered by two men who attacked him with a cricket stump while he was sleeping.
The woman alleged that her father used to make inappropriate advances towards her. Later, the police arrested the accused woman identified as Kulvinder Kaur, and her two accomplices.
