President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has expressed shock over the death of one of the long serving member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Roseby Dinala, popularly known as Mai Dinala.
Chakwera said this at a funeral ceremony of Mai Dinala at St. Columba CCAP in the commercial capital Blantyre on Wednesday.
According to Chakwera, Mai Dinala was pillar of MCP who was among the people who made sure the party survived for over 20 years it has been outside government.
“She never left the party even when she was bitter on other issues,” said Chakwera.
Mai Dinala died on Tuesday at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital after a short illness.
She has served MCP for 57 years.
