Business has come to a standstill at General Alliance Insurance Company in Blantyre as workers are refusing to enter their offices after disinfection exercise.
According to information at hand, the campany’s offices were on Thursday closed for COVID-19 disinfection exercise as ordered by the government.
After 4 hours, management asked workers to go back into their offices to resume work for the day and this did not go down well with the workers.
The workers argue that the chemicals used takes 24 hours to phase out hence their refusal to place their health at risk.
But management insist that the chemicals used take 4 hours to phase out.
Malawi has so far recorded 4752 cases of Coronavirus with 152 deaths.
