Police in Neno district are keeping in custody a 67- year-old Community Victim Support Unit member, Beston Eveleson for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old standard four girl.

According to Neno Police Station Child Protection Officer Sub-Inspector Austin Kamwendo, the suspect took advantage of a situation the girl found herself in where her mother is reported to have chased her after securing a job as a maid.

The Police say the mother’s boss did not want her worker to stay with her daughter at the boss’ s house.

The suspect is said to have offered to take custody of the girl and support her but ended up allegedly defiling her since April 2019.
