Moses Mlenga elected UTM Regional Governor for the North, replaces Njikho

University of Livingstonia Registrar Moses Mlenga has been elected as governor for the United Transformation Movement (UTM) in the north.

Mlenga replaces former Regional Governor for the region Leonard Njikho who resigned on personal grounds weeks ago.

He defeated Rabson Chihaula Shaba by 90 votes against 64.

UTM is currently in alliance with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) under the banner of Tonse Alliance led by Dr. Lazaurus Chakwera who is also President of Malawi.
