Blantyre Water Board has disconnected illegal water connection at the premises of politician and former presidential aspirant, Reverend Hadwick Kaliya in Chilomoni Township in Blantyre.
BWB Public Relation Officer Evelyn Khonje confirmed of the development in an interview with Daily Times.
According to Khonje, BWB team together with the law enforcers invaded the premises of Kaliya in Chilomoni with an aim to disconnect water.
The officials were denied entry to Kaliya’s house but they managed to disconnect the water from outside the fence.
In 2019, Kaliya contested in General election on an independent ticket and he performed miserable.
In the fresh polls which was held on June 23, 2020, Kaliya pulled out of the polls and endorsed Tonse Alliance led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Dr. Saulos Chilima.
