An emergency meeting summoned by immediate Past President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has been shifted to today (Thursday) afternoon, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Initially, the meeting was scheduled for this morning at Mutharika’s retirement home in the Eastern District of Mangochi.

But inside sources have told this publication that, the meeting has been shifted to 2pm today at the same venue.

The reasons for the shift of time is not known at the moment.

The meeting follow remarks made by former DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey that Mutharika needs to be replaced through a possible early convention.

The remarks angered Mutharika who retaliated by firing Jeffrey from her position.
