It is happy day for the people of Likoma and Chizumulu islands as struggles for better health services are expected to ease following the purchase of the first ever Speed boat Ambulance for Likoma District Health Office (DHO).
The Island district has become one of four districts which government with support from Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) has procured to help speed up referral challenges that the lakehore districts have been facing.
Ministry of Health spokesperson Joshua Malango has told Zodiak Online today Thursday that the new ambulance boats are expected to arrive at their respective DHOs anyday.
