As cracks have emerged in the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), political analyst Mustafa Hussen has faulted the party for firing its Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey.

Yesterday, DPP’s leader former President Peter Mutharika fired Jeffrey from the party and her position for calling for a convention to elect new leader to replace Mutharika.

However, Jeffrey dared her boss as she said she will not step down nor leave the party.

In his remarks Hussen said the development only shows that things are not well in the party and confirms the previous assertions that there are divisions in the party.

Hussein further said it was better for the party to go for an early elective convention to choose new leaders.

Jeffrey was appointed as the Secretary General of the Democratic Progressive Party-DPP in January 2017.
