Blantyre based musician Patience Namadingo has said politician Atupele Muluzi has fulfilled his promise as he has paid his 1 million kwacha pledge towards the fundraising of William Kachigamba to access his medical cancer treatment in Zambia.

On Tuesday, the Mapulani star posed as a statue at Ginnery Corner with an aim of raising funds for Kachigamba who reached out to Namadingo asking for help and Atupele made an online pledge towards the fundraising.

The duo set to meet in Blantyre at 4 in the afternoon to do the transactions but Muluzi failed to make it due to other circumstances, said Namadingo.

“He tried his level best to get done with his other commitments and start off for Blantyre from Lilongwe to honour his pledge. However, time did not allow such to happen as planned,” he said.

Updating the press on the progress of the donations, yesterday, Namadingo said the young Muluzi Honoured his promise by paying the money even though they failed to meet to do the transactions in person.

According to Namadingo, Muluzi directed his office to do the transactions.

“He called me and explained of his delay. Knowing well that he would not make it on the agreed time. He made sure that what he wanted to do must still be done even thou he was still in transit. He called his office to initiate the transfer of one million Kwacha which was done in no time,” Namadingo said.

According to Namadingo, Muluzi called to confirm if the money had been received and “sincerely expressed his feeling over William’s issue”

Muluzi has also encouraged others to take a leaf from what Namadingo has done and learn to give their best whenever they can.
