Education Ministry has organised a five day Covid-19 Back to School Campaign message development workshop in Mangochi.
Opening the workshop Monday 31st August 2020, the Ministry’s director of inspection and advisory services Raphael Agabu advised participants to develop and disseminate messages that will persuade learners to go back school.
“We have children that are willing to go back to school. We have some not willing. What we are looking for here, is how do we motivate learners to go back to school and remain in school?” said Agabu.
The messages to be developed will be around back to school campaign, child protection, safety and hygiene and continuity of learning among others.
Ministry of Education received funding for the workshop through Global Partnership for Education (GPE).
Government ordered closure of schools on 23rd March following Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Government has announced that schools be re-opened on 7 September but adhere to Covid-19 preventive measures and guidelines put in place.
