Minibus drivers in the commercial capital Blantyre are on strike to protest against corrupt traffic officers who are stealing from them.
The strike have placed passengers who rely on public transport within Blantyre in awkward situation as there are no minibuses to pick them.
According to one of the drivers, offenses such as wrong parking moved from K5 thousand to K10 thousand and now are demanded to pay K20 thousand.
The drivers also claim that, COVID-19 measures are only applied to Minibuses but to other activities such as weddings, gatherings, church services its business as usual.
The drivers are also protesting the recent fight for Migodi between supporters of the Tonse Alliance and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
