Following his re-appointment to head the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) General Vincent Nundwe has expressed his gratitude promising to continue form where he stopped.
Few hours ago President Lazarus Chakwera made the announcement from Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe that he has reinstated general Nundwe as the MDF commander.
Nundwe was relieved from his duties by former president Peter Mutharika who later appointed him as Malawi ambassador to India.
In an interview, Nundwe welcomed the president’s decision and said he is ready to continue where he stopped while giving all the praise to God.
“God is great. I was removed for doing my job. I am happy that I am back and I will continue from where I stopped, serving Malawians” Nundwe said.
The people’s general further called on all MDF soldiers to serve Malawians and nothing else.
According to Nundwe, he is glad to be back at MDF saying his mission is to ensure that the military serves the interests of the people and nothing else.
