Concerned Teachers across the country have threatened to call for a national wide strike from September 7, 2020 if the Tonse Alliance government will not pay all government teachers risk allowances.
The threat follows government announcement through Ministry of Education Science and Technology that schools will re-open on September 7, 2020.
The concerned teachers announced of the plan during a media briefing held in Lilongwe today.
According to the grouping, the teachers have noted that government is ignoring calls from Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) asking for risk allowances for teachers.
