The latest report by the Malawi Vulnerability Assessment Committee(MVAC)shows that over 2.6 million people in the country will face hunger this year.

In a statement released today by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development and Public Sector reforms says out of the affected population, 2, 032, 106 people are in rural areas while 585, 880 are in urban areas which translates to an increase of 8 percent in the rural affected population compared to 1,879, 391 released in 2019.
