President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has said his administration will ensure that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is fully independent as a way of ending corruption in the country.

Chakwera said this is morning during the opening of 49th session of parliament in the capital in Lilongwe.

“As a demonstration to my commitment to ending corruption, we are making the Anti-Corruption Bureau fully independent.” Chakwera said.

According to Chakwera, ACB will be given all the necessary resources to investigate all financial cases and any malpractice.

The President added that the ACB will not shield anyone involved in dubious deals disregarding the position s/he is in.
