New Legislation To Help Ending Fraud In Local Councils

The National Local Government Finance Committee is planning to introduce legislation that will give it powers to act on fraud in local councils.
This follows increased cases of financial abuse in most local councils as well as failure to submit financial reports to the relevant authorities.
A lack of legal framework has led to those accused of abusing public funds not getting the necessary punishment.
