Second vice president for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Harry Mkandawire has made it clear that he will not apologies over the Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDEF) saga.
Over the weekend in Karonga Mkandawire unveiled MCP candidate for the by elections scheduled in November this year said people to be considered first for the MEDEF loans are supporters of MCP.
According to Mkandawire, on the ballot during the June 23 fresh presidential elections there was President Lazarus Chakwera and no one else.
But in reaction to the calls, Mkandawire says he made the statement because some UTM officials were deceiving people in Karonga central constituency that the loan will be disbursed this week by the party’s structures.
He has since warned other politicians against politicizing the loans.
Strong calls are still growing for Chakwera to discipline Mkandawire over his division remarks.
