Transport and Public works Minister Sidik Mia has promised the people of Blantyre City East Constituency that government will complete constructing the Ndirande Makheta road which was left unfinished some years ago.
He said government under the leadership of Dr Lazarus Chakwera is committed to bring a number of development projects in the area so long as they support it.
“We will also construct a bypass road at Chiradzulu turn off, improve water supply and complete Nanthoka clinic and Kachere Health Centre whose projects were put on hold since 2014,” he said.
John Bande parliamentarian for the area has since said that he will work with government under the leadership of Dr Lazarus Chakwera adding that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is not as the MCP which people used to know.
He said he will be part and parcel of government and ensure that there is real development to change the constituency.
“People were tired with what was happening with the previous administration, l have joined MCP and l am here to stay. We should help government for it to help us as well, l also ensures that there should be a secondary school at Makhetha Primary school, “he said.
Bande also said there is nothing else that the people of the area need than development and it is only government that can bring development.
