Police in Lilongwe are hunting for unknown thugs who murdered a motorcycle taxi operator before robbing him of his bike.

The operator, identified as Thokozani Kambalame, met his fate on Sunday night at Chigwirizano.

He is believed to have been hired from Culture Club by some criminals who posed as clients.

On the way, the thugs hacked the operator in the head, making off with his motorbike.

He was found dead along Malingunde road on Monday.

Police ferried the body to Kamuzu Central Hospital where it transpired that the cause of death was severe head injury.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway to arrest the culprits to answer a murder charge.

The deceased hailed from Mzinda Village, Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe.
