The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 is emphasising the need to strengthen coronavirus preventive measures especially the use of face masks following the reopening of schools.

According to the co-chairperson of the committee John Phuka, face mask use is part of a comprehensive package in the prevention and control measures that can limit the spread of the virus.

He stresses that face masks can be used to protect healthy persons from contracting the disease and as a source control to limit spread of the disease to others.

Phuka is, therefore, urging parents and teachers to ensure that learners use face masks appropriately at all times.
