The Founder and Managing Director for DRC Bar which is located near New Bagdad in Ndirande Township, Masa Stone said he decided to venture into business in 2007 after failing to secure a proper job.
Speaking in an interview, Stone popular known as DRC said after completing his education at Mdeka Secondary School he worked at Eshan Product where he was getting K150 per month in 1999 and it was not enough to feed his family.
“When I was working for Eshan product in Blantyre I was getting K150 per month which was not enough for my family hence decision to start brewing local beer wine in Bangula, Nsanje district,” he said.
DRC, 38 further said his vision is to have big Company like New Bagdad Bar so that he can assist government in job creation by employing more people to reduce high unemployment which the country is facing at the moment.
DRC has bars in Nsanje Boma at Village Headman Chataika in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia opposite Mariano, Nkhate, Marka, Ndirande behind PTC and near Baghdad and shortly he will expand to some parts of the country.
“A part from creating job opportunity to the youth in the country I also promote musicians like Katelele Ching’oma, Moses Makawa, Zebron Kankhunda , Shozzie, Harrison Kapasule, Chipiliro Mwacheka just to mention but a few,” said Ndirande based entrepreneur.
He said he started to assist the artists as one way of promoting their talents and skills.
DRC’s favourite food is Mgaiwa with roasted Mlamba and he belongs to light of God church. At his free time he likes chatting with friends.
He is third born in the family of 3 (Boys only) and he has 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls).
