The Dedza Senior Resident Magistrate Court has sentenced a primary school teacher Mr Felix Kaole and his niece Catherine Kaole to more than 3 years Imprisonment for being found in possession of medical drugs and for operating a clinic without certificate.
The state prosecutor, sub inspector Clemecia Mlongoti told the court that the two were assisting patients and were found with assorted medical drugs and hospital items worth over 2 million kwacha.
In mitigation, Mr Kaole told the court that he is a civil servant who has served in government for 23 years as a teacher and he also takes care of kids of his late sisters.
While his niece Catherine told the court that she is married with children and that she is only the breadwinner in her family.
