In the past 24 hours, Malawi has registered 7 new COVID-19 cases, 11 new recoveries, and 1 new death.
The new death is a 40-year-old female from Blantyre.
The new cases are locally transmitted infections: five are from Blantyre, and one each from Nsanje and Mzimba South.
Cumulatively, Malawi has recorded 5,697 cases including 178 deaths.
Of these cases, 1,141 are imported infections and 4,556 are locally transmitted. Cumulatively, 3,742
cases have now recovered bringing the total number of active cases to 1,777.
The average age of the cases is 36.5 years, the youngest case being aged 1 month, the oldest being 98 years old and 68% are male.
