Reports reaching faceofmalawi indicate that the two separately took poison at Engalaweni in Mzimba over a family dispute.

According to a close family member, Chimutu Hara, the incident happened in early hours of Wednesday when the two fought following a heated row over a yet to be established family matter.

It is said Dumisani was first to take poison following the incidents which he felt were embarrassing.

The father, then also took the same poison in what people there suspect could be a fear on his part of the consequences of the matter.

Unlike his son, Chief Mkhuzo Jere was pronounced dead at Mzimba district hospital.
