Two men were arrested for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Whilst on mobile patrol, officers had cause to stop a black Nissan Almera vehicle driven by 19 year -old Antonio Mohammed with 22-year-old Lorenzo Rahim, of Grand Lagoon, Road East Mayaro.
The two suspects were arrested and charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
As the anti-crime exercise continued, the officers based on information, proceeded to an agricultural plot of land in Gregorio Trace, Cedar Grove, Mayaro, where they saw a man tending to a quantity of marijuana.
The officers attempted to arrest him, but he ran away.
Twenty-three and a half kilogrammes of marijuana were found and seized.
The officers found and destroyed two marijuana fields, one with 10,000 fully grown marijuana trees, and the other with 250 pounds of cured marijuana and 5,000 seedlings.
The total value of the marijuana find has been estimated at $22 million.
