Two councilors for the main opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have dumped the party and joined Malawi Congress Party (MCP), a party in Tonse Alliance under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
The two were welcomed into MCP on Wednesday at Chiradzulu Boma by the party’s Campaign Director Moses Kunkuyu.
Fadwick Matemba who was a DPP die hard joined the two in joining the governing party.
Speaking after welcoming the three, Kunkuyu said the coming in of the two into the party will strengthen MCP in the South which is believed to be the strong hold of DPP.
Kunkuyu then urged the three to work hard in strengthening the party especially at grassroots.
