A dark cloud has engulfed the media fraternity in the country following the demise of Chief Editor of Hansard at the Parliament of Malawi, Vinny Phiri.
Phiri’s death comes barely hours after the death of of veteran journalist Akwete Sande,former Chief Editor at Big Issue Magazine.
He died in the wee hours of Friday in Lilongwe.
A seasoned media person, Phiri worked as an Editor for Times Group (Blantyre Newspapers Limited) before joining the Parliamentary Service as a Senior Editor of Hansard.
He also served as executive member of the Commonwealth Hansard Editors Association.
Burial will take place tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe.
