Political commentator George Phiri is daring the former governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to either accept that its leader Peter Mutharika lacks capacity to provide leadership or face total disintegration.
The guidance follows revelations that the party has summoned its vice president for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa to answer various charges before its disciplinary committee.
Nankhumwa is among others accused of displaying insubordination to party president Peter Mutharika regarding his apparent choice of George Chaponda, rather than Nankhumwa, as Leader of Opposition in Parliament.
in an interview Phiri insists that the move by the DPP is ill-timed and would only fuel further divisions within the party.
