Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Reyneck Matemba has maintained that the bureau is not influenced by politics when discharging its duties to fight corruption in the country.
Matemba said this yesterday when he and other senior ACB officials appeared before the Parliament Legal Affairs and Governance Cluster Committee to discuss its allocation in the 2020/2021 budget.
The meeting was dominated with accusations by most members of the committee that the Bureau is often political in its investigations.
But Matemba insists that the ACB has been and will always be apolitical.
