The Parliamentary Cluster Committee on Social and Community Affairs, Local Authorities and Rural Development this morning met Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare to discuss Vote 320.
Among others, the Ministry has lobbied for allocation of extra K1.5 billion on Vote 320 in the 2020/21 National Budget.
According to the Ministry, the additional allocation that the Ministry is requesting will be used to provide for activities in government departments such as Gender Affairs, Social Welfare, Training and Reformation Institutions and Construction of a Lecture Theater at Magomero College.
According to the Principal Secretary for Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Roselyn Makhumula, the additional funding will enable the Ministry to implement all the critical planned activities that the Ministry presented to the Committee.
Parliamentary Committee Clusters started meeting on Monday, 15th September, 2020 to scrutinize the National Budget which was presented to the House on Friday, 12th September, 2020 by Honorable Felix Mlusu, Minister of Finance and Economic Development.
