The Ministry of Transport says all processes are being finalized for the country’s first ever tollgates to be in use before the end of the 2020/2021 fiscal year.

The revelation comes at a time the Roads Authority had already awarded contracts to various companies that are constructing the tollgates.

In an interview, Andrew Nthiko Spokesperson in the ministry of Transport and Public Works said construction of the Chingeni and Kalinyeke toll gates is in progress and operations are expected to commence before the next budget presentation.

Nthiko has since hinted that government will use the two tollgates to evaluate the functionality of tollgates in the country as a critical factor for revenue generation.
