President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has left for Lusaka – Zambia through the Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) for a day – long official visit.

Addressing Journalist before departure, Dr. Chakwera underscored the need for Malawi to strengthen and consolidate her historical bilateral ties with Zambia for the benefit of the people of the two nations.

The trip is the first for Dr. Chakwera after he was ushered into office following the June 23 fresh Presidential poll.

Among those who have seen him off along with the First Lady are State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima, cabinet ministers and chiefs.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Chakwera is expected to return later today at 4 O’clock in the afternoon.
