The Ministry of Information discloses that the Last Mile Rural Connectivity Project will be halted this year owing to a 66% reduction of the development budget.

This project will improve access to mobile and internet network by constructing towers across the country.

Through the project, a tower is expected to be constructed in every constituency amounting to K5 billion

The Ministry has however received K350 million.

This reduction in funding is being attributed to the introduction of Affordable Input Subsidy program which has taken up a chunk of the budget.
