Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Mtambo has said government consider different institutions including religious grouping are as partners in development.
Mtambo said this at a meeting he held in Blantyre at Grace Bandawe Conference Centre in which he engaged leaders from the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Blantyre Synod.
According to Mtambo, under Tonse Alliance government which is being led by President Lazarus Chakwera, gives all institutions freedom to operate freely across the country.
As such, he said his ministry and the government is open to hearing the institutions’ thoughts, including churches, in different activities of the country.
Among others the Synod general secretary Reverend Billy Gama, his deputy Moyenda Kanjerwa and the Synod moderator Masauko Mbolembole are in attendance at the meeting.
In his remarks reverend Mbolembole said the meeting has provided an opportunity for interaction between the Synod and government.
On his part, Gama says according to their constitution, they have every reason to give both the ministry and government support.
