Police in Kenya have arrested a middle-aged man accused of killing his friend-cum-customer on Sunday night (September 20).
The suspect, who sells illicit breer, allegedly attacked the deceased following a row between them. The incident happened at the suspect’s home.
Angered by the fall-out, the suspect reached for a panga and fatally hacked his victim in the head.
“He, thereafter, severed his (victim’s) manhood from his body,” said Mukuyuni assistant commissioner Jane Nthiga.
“The suspect also harmed two other customers, who were taking alcohol with the victim,” said Nthiga.
“It remains unclear what led to the fatal altercation between the suspect and the deceased. We, however, will interrogate the survivors to understand what exactly transpired,” added the assistant county commissioner.
Irate residents on Monday morning, September 21, torched the suspect’s house, claiming he had developed a habit of attacking his customers with a panga over petty wrangles.
“Every other time he gets arrested by police, he is usually released in unclear circumstances,” said a local.
The injured were taken to a Wote hospital, whereas the deceased was moved to a Makueni hospital morgue.
