Resident Coordinator for United Nations Maria Torres has advised government to do a follow up on cases of plunder of taxpayer’s money.

Torres has also advised government to reinvest funds that are recovered from Corruption and other assets into development agenda.

She further called for strong accountability institutions to follow up on cases of plunder of taxpayer’s money.

She was speaking today during a media breakfast in Lilongwe as part of commemorations marking UN 75 years anniversary.

Few months after ascending into government Tonse Alliance has made a number of arrest of top officials in the past regime.

Most of the people who were arrested in related to corruption were released on bail.
