Out of 451 in-mates and prison warders who tested COVID19 positive in country’s prisons, 447 have recovered from the disease.

Malawi Prison Service spokesperson, Chimwemwe Shaba, said this today Friday. There are now only four active cases, three at Rumphi prison and one at Mzimba prison.

Shaba said despite the good news, the prisons department continues to conduct mass screening at Maula prison and ensuring that all COVID19 preventive measures are being followed.
