The government through its spokesperson Gospel Kazako insists that it will not suspend the operationalization of the Access to Information-ATI law.

This follows a demand by the Public Relations Society of Malawi that the government halts the process as not all stakeholders have been consulted on the new law’s regulations.

Speaking to Capital FM, the society’s President Lewis Msasa discloses that the regulations are critical in the successful implementation of the act.

Msasa warns that hasty implementation would result in public institutions struggling to comply with the law.
