Chancellor College Law Lecturer Edge Kanyongolo has become the third person to turn down President Lazarus Chakwera’s appointment as a board member.

Kanyongolo was incorporated into the board of Competition and Fair Trade Commission (CFTC).

Adding to that 2 human rights activists Charles Kajoloweka and Barbra Banda have also turned down the offer by Chakwera.

According to Kajoloweka if he would accept the offer it will compromise his position as a human rights activist.

In her words Banda said Chakwera administration undermined the role of women by appointing only women out of the 67 parastatals.

Responding to the development, government spokesperson Gospel Kazako said everyone has the freedom to accept or turn down the appointments.

He said Government will make replacements.
